Awnings and fabric-covered structures must withstand high winds and storms, not to mention the corrosive effects of rain and snow. Choose SONCO tubing to ensure your awnings can handle it all!
Thanks to the unique in-line coating process our tubing is both highly corrosion resistant and has greater tensile strength as well. This means you can use tubing with smaller diameters and thinner wall thicknesses — while achieving greater load-carrying capacity than Schedule 40 pipe.
Round or square swaging for smooth connections.
Secondary saw cutting to meet precise length tolerance.
Standard and custom hole configurations.
Screw-threaded ends for assembly.
Flat strip steel is cold-formed and electric-resistance or induction welded. This process creates greater yield and tensile strength compared to tubing of the same O.D. and gauge. After welding, the tube goes through three coating baths:
The first bonds zinc to the hot tubing.
This is followed by a conversion coating bath which alters the zinc’s chemical composition, adding another layer of corrosion protection.
A third and final protective coating bath applies a clear organic polymer to give the tube superior corrosion resistance, added aesthetic appeal, and long-lasting surface brightness.

Our tubing has a minimum 50,000 PSI yield strength and 55,000 PSI tensile strength — for the ultimate in structural integrity.
Triple-coated galvanized steel is more rust-resistant than any competitive tube product. The triple-coat process makes the difference!
Minimum 50,000* PSI yield strength and 55,000 PSI tensile strength provides the ultimate in structural integrity.
*Applicable to products 15 gauge and heavier.
Triple coat tubing can be fabricated without cracking, flaking or otherwise damaging the coatings.
Due to its 99.99% pure zinc coating, it can be easily and safely welded.
The clear organic topcoat that seals in the protection offers a smooth, shiny appearance.
